AMD Ryzen 5 7400 Processor Spotted with Integrated Graphics
AMD is set to launch a new processor in its Ryzen 7000 series, the Ryzen 5 7400. This CPU has already appeared in shipping documentation and is a variant of the Ryzen 5 7400F, featuring the integrated graphics enabled. This will be the main difference between the two models, which will offer the same CPU performance.
Ryzen 5 7400 Specifications
The Ryzen 5 7400 will have 6 cores and 12 threads, using the Zen 4 architecture. It will operate at speeds of 3.7 GHz to 4.7 GHz in normal and turbo modes. The turbo mode always refers to one active thread, so when more cores and threads are active, it will run at a lower speed.
Its TDP (Thermal Design Power) will be 65 watts, the same as all Ryzen 5 7000 processors, except for the Ryzen 5 7600X, which has a TDP of 105 watts. The integrated GPU is a Radeon RDNA 2 with 2 CUs, totaling 128 shaders. The performance of the integrated GPU is quite low, but it is enough to handle Windows 11 and light applications.
The Ryzen 5 7400 will be integrated into the AM5 platform and will be compatible with all motherboards using this socket, including those with the 600 series and 800 series chipsets.
This new processor is expected to have a higher price than the Ryzen 5 7400F, as it comes with the advantage of the enabled iGPU. However, its CPU performance will be identical to that of the Ryzen 5 7400F. If it registers the same temperature values as the Ryzen 5 7400F, it may be worth spending a little more money to go for the Ryzen 5 7500F, especially if the price difference between the two is not significant, as it uses higher-quality thermal interface material (TIM) in the IHS and runs much cooler.
