Apple Pay Now Available as a Payment Option on PlayStation 5
Over the past decade, digital game delivery has grown significantly, and more players are choosing digital games over physical copies, especially on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. There are now many ways to buy digital games, such as using credit cards, PayPal, or gift cards. Now, Apple Pay will be added as a new payment method, allowing players to use Apple’s payment system for game purchases on PlayStation 5. Let’s take a closer look at this new feature.
Now, you can use Apple Pay to buy digital games directly on PlayStation 5. Apple Pay works similarly to PayPal. It links to a credit or debit card and allows you to make online payments by simply entering your Apple account details. This adds an extra layer of security for users. Until now, Apple Pay was only available on the PlayStation 5 browser and the mobile version of the console.
How to Use Apple Pay on PlayStation 5
Using Apple Pay in the PlayStation Store is simple and easy. When checking out, just select Apple Pay as your payment option. Then, a code will appear on your screen. You can scan this code with your iPhone or iPad to access your Apple Pay account and complete the purchase.
When Will Apple Pay Be Available on PlayStation 4?
Apple Pay will also be available on PlayStation 4 in the future, through a software update. However, there’s no specific date for its release yet. To use QR code payments, you’ll need to have iOS 18 or later on your Apple devices.
