Dragon Quest 12 is Still in Active Development, Confirms Series Creator
In an interview with Gamereactor, the creator of the Dragon Quest series, Yuji Horii, confirmed that Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate is still in full development. This clears up any concerns about the state of the game’s progress. The twelfth installment of the popular series was announced in 2021, but there have been few updates and even fewer materials released, leading to speculation that the development might be facing issues.
However, according to Horii, there is no reason to worry. The game is actively being worked on, and the team has been putting in a lot of effort for quite some time.
A Big Commitment to the Game
Horii shared more about the game’s development, saying (thanks GamesRadar), “I am making it, putting lots of work into it.” He expressed confidence that the next game will be fantastic, adding, “I’m working really hard [on it].” He also encouraged fans to stay excited for the future of the franchise, saying, “Please look forward to it, is the only thing I can say.”
Given that Dragon Quest 12 will be released after the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, Horii was also asked if the game would be available on the new Nintendo console. He confirmed that it would be compatible, though he didn’t clarify whether there would be a specific version for the Switch 2 or just regular compatibility.
