Forza Horizon 5 Sees Rapid Player Growth on PS5 Just Hours After Launch
Forza Horizon 5 seems to have already captured a large number of players on the PS5, just hours after its release. Although we are still waiting for official numbers, there is already some evidence showing the game’s strong start on Sony’s latest console.
Currently, the tool we can use to measure the game’s impact on PS5 is the number of players listed in the game’s online leaderboard. This ranking tracks the total number of players who have logged into Forza Horizon 5. While this data doesn’t give us an exact count of daily active players or actual sales, it can provide some insight into the game’s growing popularity.
Nearly 1 Million Players in Just Hours
Some users on ResetEra posted screenshots of the number of players before and after the game’s release on PS5. The data shows a sharp increase in players just hours after launch, which seems to be directly linked to the game’s release on the Sony platform.
Before the game launched on PS5, the total number of Forza Horizon 5 players (across Xbox and PC) was 45.1 million. This was already a remarkable figure, reflecting the game’s ongoing success. However, just a few hours after the PS5 release, the player count rose to 45.8 million—an increase of 700,000 players. This growth could likely be attributed to new players on PS5 who bought the game (as they don’t have access through Game Pass).
While this data is not precise, it does suggest that the release of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 helped bring nearly a million new players into the game’s online community in a very short time.
