iPhone 17 Air Leak Reveals Disappointing Battery Size Ahead of Launch
A recent leak may have revealed the weight and battery capacity of the iPhone 17 Air. Even though the official announcement is still months away, rumors about this new compact model have been circulating for some time. The leak that surfaced recently could have shared details about the battery’s weight and capacity, which might disappoint many users worldwide.
iPhone 17 Air Expected to Have a 2800 mAh Battery?
According to a post from smartphone supply chain leaker yeux1122 on Naver (thanks 9to5Mac), the iPhone 17 Air is expected to weigh about 145 grams. However, the disappointing part is the battery capacity, which is reportedly made of silicon-carbon and is only 2800 mAh. If this is true, it would be a significant step back compared to other models, even falling short when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launched recently with its 3900 mAh battery.
The thickness of the device has also been confirmed, expected to be around 5.5 millimeters, as suggested earlier by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The new compact model is rumored to feature a 6.6-inch display, powered by the A19 chip and fully supporting Apple Intelligence.
iPhone 17 Air Release Date
Currently, there’s no confirmed release date for the iPhone 17 Air, but it is expected to launch alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 series (including the standard and Pro models) between September and October.
As always, these details are just rumors at the moment, and we will need to wait for confirmation (or a denial) from Apple.
