Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition Review
Alan Wake II

Alan Wake II is a survival horror game and the long-awaited sequel to Remedy Entertainment’s cult classic, Alan Wake. This time, the story takes a darker turn, delving deeper into the psychological and supernatural elements that made the original so compelling. Players can expect a chilling atmosphere, intense combat encounters, and a mind-bending narrative that will keep them on the edge of their seats.

In Alan Wake II, the RTX 5080 packs another 17% more performance over the RTX 4080, and 11% over the 4080 SUPER. These numbers are fairly good, especially when factoring in the relevant price points, but more impressive again is the 1% low figures that sees the 5080 ahead by 19% over the 4080 and 16% over the 4080 SUPER. This also means, due to the uplift, that we find the 5080 leading the 7900 XTX by 10% in the averages, and 11% in the lows but does still put it 14% behind the RTX 4090 overall.

As we move up to 4K, we see similar numbers, with 18% more performance over the RTX 4080 in the averages, and 13% more in the lows, while comparing to the 4080 SUPER, we see a smaller increase of 11% and 8% respectively. What this means for the competition is that NVIDIA now sits 13% ahead in the averages, and 8% in the lows for a price point that matches, at least in terms of MSRP launch price at the same $999.
