RTX 5090 – Has A New Driver Improved Performance & The 1% Lows?
CS2

CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) is the highly anticipated sequel to the iconic tactical first-person shooter, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Developed by Valve, it promises to revolutionise the competitive FPS scene with updated graphics, refined gameplay mechanics, and new features. Players can expect the same intense tactical gameplay that has made the franchise so popular but with a fresh coat of paint and exciting new additions.

Then in CS2 we start off with some more disappointment, as at 1080p we see a 3% decrease in performance in the averages and a 4% decrease in the lows. Whilst any sort of decrease is disappointing, it would be remiss of me not to point out that both of these results fall into the margin of error so it could go the other way upon retests. Also, we are seeing frame rates over 500 frames per second here, so it doesn’t really make much difference anyway.
1440p tells a different story, as we only see a 1% change in the averages, but this time it’s an increase. Again though this is margin of error so it’s nothing to get too excited about. The lows, however, do see a much better result with 12% more performance, again though, with such high frame rates this will be hard to notice.
Then 4K ended up being somewhere in the middle as we saw an increased average FPS, with 2% more performance, whilst the lows saw a decrease of 4%. The most important thing to remember here though is that with frame rates this high, these types of small frame rate differences won’t even be noticeable, so for this title I really wouldn’t worry.
