Rasterization
In terms of performance, the Sapphire lined up perfectly, and outperformed the Gigabyte Gaming OC in all pretty much all of the games that we tested and brought us performance similar to the levels of the 7900 XTX and RTX 4080.
Overclocking did push performance closer to that of the RTX 5080, which in some titles did see similar levels of performance to the 7900 XTX, which doesn’t give us a a great uplift generation to generation, though when factoring in the cheaper launch price, that definitely helps to soften the blow, if you can get it for that price of course.
While the factory overclock on the Sapphire card has helped to bring performance up, the manual tweaking that we did made a bigger difference when comparing to other cards, not just from AMD, but NVIDIA too.
