You Won’t Need a PS5 Pro to Play GTA 6: Rockstar Captured the New Trailer on Standard PS5
Today, Rockstar finally gave fans what they’ve been waiting to see for over a year: a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, the next and highly anticipated game in this open-world action and driving series. Although it won’t be released this year, it’s set to launch on May 26, 2025, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The Trailer Was Captured on a Standard PS5
Like the first trailer, one of the biggest talking points about this new video is its stunning graphics. This has raised concerns among some players about whether current consoles can handle such high levels of detail. However, these concerns seem unnecessary because Rockstar has confirmed at the end of the trailer that everything we see was captured on a standard PlayStation 5.
It’s important to note that the logo shown in the trailer is that of the standard PS5, not the PS5 Pro. This suggests that what we’re seeing now is likely what we’ll experience when playing on a regular PS5 (or possibly even better, as there’s still a year of development left). Of course, everything shown so far has been captured using the game’s engine, so we’ll have to wait and see how the game performs in actual gameplay.
What We Know About the Game
Grand Theft Auto VI will take us back to Vice City for a wild and exciting adventure. The story follows Jason and Lucía, who, after a failed heist, find themselves caught in a conspiracy that stretches across the state, forcing them to work together to survive. The game will feature plenty of action, including heists, high-speed vehicle chases, and intense gunfights.
